Money and awareness raised at 100+ Women Who Care event

Bancroft Pregnancy Care Centre was named the winning recipient at the first 100+Women Who Care event of 2025 at the Village Playhouse Wednesday night.

Organizers say 35people attended the first in-person meeting for Bancroft region of the year.

Participants voted to select a winning non-profit after listening to presentations from the Canadian Peace Museum, Scouts Canada and the pregnancy centre.

Those unable to attend can support the selected local charity by e-transferring a $100 donation to [email protected] or by dropping off your cheque or cash at McG’s Cakes on Main, located at 58 Hastings St. North in Bancroft.

Since September 2019, 100+ Women Who Care Bancroft has grown to 148 registered members and 26 registered charities.

More than $68,000 has been delivered to community non-profits, including The North Hastings District Hospital Auxiliary, The North Hastings Community Fish Hatchery, Maggies Resource Centre and Home Again.
