Public transit was on yesterday’s agenda as Councillor Don Koppin and Community Care Director Gord McDonald sought financial aid for the T.R.O.U.T. from Bancroft council. A new independent group is now promoting public transit and councillor Koppin is a member of that group. They are asking for a levy of $11.72 per year on households in Bancroft to go towards the T.R.O.U.T. Mr. McDonald says that they wish to work with the various municipalities served by the T.R.O.U.T. to develop a workable funding method. Council agreed that the T.R.O.U.T. is a valuable asset to the community.
