Local loyalty at LCBOs amidst tariff rollercoaster

It was all hands on deck yesterday as LCBO employees were called in, some on their day off,  to help take American liquor products off the shelves, as had been requested by Doug Ford in response to the threat of tariffs.

Ford has now reversed the measure, after the tariff threat was paused.

While there have been some reports in Canada of the stockpiling of American-made drinks when the tariff threat was looming, local branches say they did not experience a run on American alcohol and that many customers shared their support of the move, happy to focus on buying Canadian products.

LCBO employees were just finishing up after a day of unstocking the shelves when they learned that the decision to pull American products off the shelves had been reversed.

American products are now back on display at the LCBO.

For now.
