A “highly impactful” winter storm is expected this evening into Thursday says Environment Canada.
They are predicting total snowfall amounts of 30 to 40 cm with peak snowfall rates “possibly exceeding 5 cm per hour.”
Near zero visibility and at times heavy snow and local blowing snow.
This is expected to begin this evening and end Thursday afternoon.
Environment Canada says to avoid travel if possible. Road closures are possible.
“If you must travel, keep others informed of your schedule and destination and carry an emergency kit and mobile phone. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.”
