With last night’s massive snowfall, residents across the area were out this morning shovelling and snowblowing, trying to see their way out of our snow-piled driveways and backroads.
We caught up with one Maynooth resident, out shovelling his grandmother’s house before heading to a neighbour’s home.
“Once I’m done this, I’m headed over to Greg’s to snowplow his driveway. Once the snowplows go by I’m pretty much done for the day and I’m just going snowmobiling after that.”
Eric says he needed gas for his snowblower this morning and wasn’t sure at first if he’d be able to get it, due to the weather, but was relieved to find the Maynooth Gas station open when he got there just before 9 a.m.
Eric also helps out neighbors when he can, saying he is grateful for his snowblower.
“If I see them shovelling the end of a driveway that a snowplow (has) just filled in, it’s a lot easier for my snow blower to just dig that out.”
“It’s my first snowblower in my entire life and I’m loving it.”
Eric says its the first winter he’s used a snowblower.
“I only paid $600 for it and it’s been working like a dream”
