The Town of Bancroft has accepted the bid by Clarington Construction Inc. to do the repairs to the Bridge Street Bridge. Council was told by consulting Engineer Gord Krieger that the bid will come in very close to the estimate and that he was pleased by the company’s approach to the project. The repairs are to begin on March 31st and are expected to be completed by late June. The bridge will be completely closed to traffic during the repairs and the town is preparing to re-rout traffic during that time. You are reminded to watch for signs being posted that will give more direction. The BBIA and local businesses have been preparing for the street closure with a number of ideas to promote what is now being called the “Theatre District.”
