Self taught local Lynne Vegter has been awarded the title.
Vegter moved to the area in 2018 and works from her cabin studio on Lake Weslemkoon.
“Hiking, kayaking and observing the natural beauty are her inspiration, exploring the lake reflections and the natural life around the shores.” according the A Place For the Arts website
Vegter volunteers at both A Place For The Arts and the Bancroft Art Gallery.
Her preferred medium is oils but she also enjoys painting in watercolour and mixed media.
The People’s Choice Award is an ongoing event at the collective.
Everyone is invited to visit the newest collection at the gallery and take part by voting for their favorites.
At the end of each art installation, there will be a draw and each vote will offer the chance to win a $20 gift card.
