Friends for dinner, the weekly community meal (near Cenotaph Park in Bancroft) is planning to go ahead this evening but is facing some challenges. The group has put out a call on Facebook for help from community.
“We need someone to plow a driveway in Bird’s Creek where we store the trailer for Friends for Dinner! And we need someone to tow the trailer downtown and back to Bird’s Creek after dinner. All our tents, heaters, tables and chairs are in the trailer. We know this is a big ask, and may require two different people/vehicles but we can’t cancel. There’s no way to let people know, and last time we ran when everyone thought we should cancel we had 45+ people come.”
“If there is a way you can help or know someone that could help we can cover gas.” says the organization, adding that the set up group needs to be downtown with the trailer for 3:30.
