Two Bancroft organizations have won the coveted Festival and Events Ontario (FEO) top 100 award.
Tweed & Company Theatre has been recognized as one of Ontario’s Top 100 Festivals and Events by FEO for the third consecutive year in a row and for a fourth time overall.
They first won a spot in the top 100 in 2018, then again in 2023 and 2024.
Tim Porter, co-executive and artistic director for Tweed and Company says constantly evolving and a fantastic team are key factors in their success.
“You have to show growth, you have to show innovation, so I think that’s probably why we’ve been successful three years in a row…the company has constantly grown and innovated. We have an exceptional team, we’re one of the only theatres of our size that are producing major musicals.”
Porter adds that the organization has seen ticket sale growth up 50 percent since 2022.
Town of Bancroft manager Andra Kauffeldt says the town is also thrilled to be receiving the award.
“[It] is something that we are very proud of and demonstrates the significant dedication of Town of Bancroft staff, our passionate exhibitors and contributions of everyone involved to make the event so successful year after year. The economic impacts of the show for our community, our local businesses and all of North Hastings are immeasurable and have a significant influence on the health of our local economy.”
2025 marks the 60th Anniversary of the Rockhound Gemboree in Bancroft
“We can’t wait to welcome Rockhounds from around the world to the North Hastings Community Centre from July 31 to August 3, to see what all the excitement is about.”
