Graduates hired in food processing after Loyalist skills program

An adult training program at Loyalist College has helped nine graduates get hired.

Elevate is a free adult summer program through the Loyalist Training and Knowledge Centre for people looking for jobs.  Students work on literacy skills and job training over six weeks, finishing with a ten-day placement at one of two Quinte food processing companies.

Director of Continuing Education and Corporate Training Julia Chapelle says it’s about keeping up with the technology in the food processing industry.

Elevate is a collaboration between: Essential Skills Ontario, the Quinte Economic Development Commission and Hastings County Social Services.  For more information, click here.
