The Bancroft area stewardship council had a busy day today.
As part of their shoreline rehabilitation initiative members were out on Kaminiskeg lake planting trees and shrubs to help protect the shorelines and waterways.
Ian Hendry from the organization says they planted approximatley 80 trees and shrubs at two participating properties on the lake.
The trees and shrubs help to restore shorelines, improve lake health, and support local wildlife by preventing erosion and enhancing animal habitats.
Next Saturday the environmental advocacy group will be planting 600 pine trees in Nellie Lunn Park near Coe Hill, with the help of the Scouts community and North Hastings Community Integration Association.
