Community groups and volunteers are gearing up for a major tree plant tomorrow morning.
The Bancroft Area Stewardship Council, the scout community, along with North Hastings Community Integration volunteers, will be planting 600 white pine trees in Nellie Lunn Park near Coe Hill.
Ian Hendry from the stewardship council says the trees were a generous gift.
“This was funded from a donation from the Rally and the Tall Pines and also Scouts are donating a 100 trees themselves.”
The planting will get going around 9 a.m. tomorrow and Hendry says he expects it will take no more than a few hours.
“These scouts are actually professionals. They’ve been helping in that for a few years now, so we expect to be finished in maybe about 3 hours or so.”
