Recognition for ‘making lives better’ at Coronation Awards ceremony

Several people in the region were honoured with the King Charles Coronation Medals for community service this past weekend.

On Saturday, MPP Ric Bresee hosted a Victorian Tea event at the Actinolite Recreation Hall, where medals were presented.

“There are so very many deserving individuals in Hastings-Lennox and Addington that the hardest part was narrowing down the choices,” said Bresee.

Awards were received by John Armitage – coach and builder, Suzanne Brant – Educator and researcher, Henry Hogg – Reeve, Warden and community builder,  Vicki Keith – swimmer and coach,  Carol Ann Kramp – community builder, volunteer and entrepreneur,  Greg Maxwell – first responder and community builder and Michael Shabinsky – fundraiser, volunteer and organizer.

“We all want to serve our communities and make them better. These few medallions are a small token of our gratitude and appreciation for everyone who gives their time and efforts to make the lives of others better,” added Bresee.

The medal commemorates the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III as King of Canada. The medal is administered by the Chancellery of Honours at Rideau Hall.
