Bancroft steps up for service dogs with May 25 walk event

Community members are getting ready to show their support for Canadians living with disabilities at the upcoming Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides, hosted by the Bancroft Lions Club.

Set for Sunday, the walk will take place at Santa’s Village House, with registration beginning at noon and the walk starting at 1 p.m.

The annual fundraiser benefits the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, an organization that trains and provides service dogs free of charge to those in need across the country.

The dogs assist individuals with vision, hearing, medical, and mobility challenges.

Participants can collect pledge forms from Laverne Stapley at the Bancroft Dairy Queen, or sign up online at walkfordogguides.com by searching for the Bancroft location.
