A free Community Movie Night is set for this evening at the Barry’s Bay Legion Branch 406, featuring the 2024 Disney coming-of-age film Out of My Mind.
Based on the novel by Sharon M. Draper, Out of My Mind follows Melody Brooks, a sixth-grader with cerebral palsy and a photographic memory, as she navigates life in 2002.
The event is a joint initiative between the Madawaska Valley Public Library and the Madawaska Valley Association for Community Living. Madawaska Valley District High School students will operate the canteen.
Organizers say the evening offers a chance for residents of all ages to come together, enjoy a movie, and support local programs and youth involvement.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and all are welcome to attend. The film is rated PG.
