With the warmer temperatures the lakes are starting to warm up, a reminder that swim season is almost here.
For parents looking to get their kids ready, Madawaska Valley Township has released its swim lesson schedule for the summer.
Registration is now open for the township’s summer swim program, which will feature a few changes from last year, including evening classes.
The program will run over four separate sessions at two locations — Barry’s Bay and Combermere — with two sessions held at each site on different dates.
Session one will run in Barry’s Bay June 30 to July 11, and will include bronze-level courses.
Session two will be held in Combermere July 14 to 25. Evening classes will be available during Session three in Barry’s Bay July 28 to Aug. 8.
Session four will return to Combermere Aug. 11 to 22.
The bronze program — which includes bronze medallion and bronze cross — will be offered only during Session one. Participants must attend daily classes, each lasting three hours, in order to be eligible for testing.
Registration is available online or in person at the Madawaska Valley Township office.
Spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis and will remain open until classes begin.
