The Station Keepers MV will be launching their summer programming at the historic Barry’s Bay train station Sunday.
The season opens June 1 at 2 p.m. with a conversation featuring Aimee Bailey of The Circle of Turtle Lodge, who will speak on local Algonquin history.
Aimee Bailey, of Pikwakanagan First Nation, is Elder-in-Residence at Algonquin College’s Pembroke Campus, sits on the board of Nenaawateg Inc., and has been formally recognized as an Elder by the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan.
The Station Keepers MV is a heritage and cultural organization in Barry’s Bay.
They will host a range of events throughout the summer aimed at connecting the community with the region’s history, culture and environment.
