Fully Accessible Playground to open on Canada Day in Bancroft

There will be an extra special reason to celebrate this Canada Day in downtown Bancroft.

A new fully accessible playground is officially opening at Riverside Park in Bancroft, thanks to a $160,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF).

Ric Bresee, MPP for Hastings—Lennox and Addington, will join Bancroft Mayor Paul Jenkins and town officials at the park July 1 to mark the occasion.

The grant, funded through the Ontario government, supported the construction of the inclusive play space, which aims to serve children of all abilities and foster community engagement.

Mayor Jenkins said the project reflects the Town’s commitment to accessibility and inclusivity.

MPP Bresee will speak about the province’s investment in community infrastructure and the lasting impact of the OTF funding.

The event will take place at noon at Riverside Park as the annual Canada Celebrations get under way.
