Algonquin Provincial Park is recovering from significant storm damage following a ‘thunderstorm microburst’ that caused flooding, fallen trees and washouts across the park.
In a statement, park officials said visitors should expect damage on roads and trails throughout the area as cleanup continues.
The kiosk campground and access point is currently inaccessible and will remain closed until at least June 30. Ontario Parks said reservation holders will be contacted directly.
The Brain Lake Access Point is also inaccessible.
Power and cell service have been restored in the Highway 60 corridor.
Ontario Parks staff are working to clear debris and assess the full extent of the damage. Visitors are asked to monitor official channels for further updates.
