Police are investigating after a vehicle was discovered upside down in a river near Kirkfield over the weekend.
Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP detachment responded to a call around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, after reports that a car was found submerged off Talbot River Road, just east of Kirkfield Road.
Emergency crews, including City of Kawartha Lakes Fire and the OPP’s Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, attended the scene. The river and surrounding road were closed during the vehicle recovery.
Police say no one was found inside the vehicle. The investigation remains ongoing.
