Police lay 390 charges against three individuals for multiple break-ins

Three people have been arrested in connection to 20 commercial break-ins across a large part of eastern Ontario.

OPP’s East Region Street Crime Unit says the break-ins began in July and continued into September.

They say the thieves would primarily target convenience stores which had closed for the night. They would force their way inside and then take cigarettes and lottery tickets.

The robberies took place in an area from Quinte West to Cornwall and Ottawa and communities in between including Lennox and Addington.

Police say the three male suspects were transferred to eastern Ontario on Tuesday and were formally arrested and charged with a total of 390 criminal offenses, including break-and-enter, theft, trafficking in stolen goods, and failure to comply with a release order.
