Trent University to Host Town Hall on Climate Change

Trent University graduate students have partnered with the Ontario Climate Consortium to present “Climate Change in My Backyard,” a public information session and discussion at the Market Hall in Peterborough on March 25th, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. This interactive discussion is open to all members of the community interested in understanding the impact of climate change on Peterborough and the Kawartha region. Dr. Gregory Flato, a member of the Intergovernmental Panel of the Convention of Climate Change, will be the main speaker for the town hall event. Dr. Flato works for Environment Canada on climate prediction and long-term climate projections.

The discussion will raise questions about how climate change will impact communities locally; what science at the global scale means for communities in eastern Ontario; what climate change means for local agriculture, forestry, recreation and critical infrastructure; and more.
