Charges Laid Against A Member of the Canadian Armed Forces

On March 19th, the Canadian Forces
National Investigation Service (CFNIS) charged a male member of the Canadian
Armed Forces with two counts of sexual assault. The accused is a 28-year-old
Master Corporal of The Royal Canadian Dragoons in Petawawa. Lt. Colonel Brian
Frei says the Canadian Armed Forces and the Military Police treat every
allegation of sexual assault as a serious crime and that such cases erode the
standards of military discipline and victimizes everyone involved. The Canadian
Forces National Investigation Service has a mandate is to investigate serious
and sensitive matters involving Department of National Defence property,
employees and Forces personnel serving in Canada and around the world
