Tweed and Company named to FEO Top 100 list for fourth consecutive year

Tweed and Company Theatre has made the Top 100 Festivals and Events Ontario list for the fourth year in a row.

Artistic and co-executive director Tim Porter said they were particularly honored to be named to the list this year.

“In general they said it was a very competitive year this year. A lot of festivals and events that have consistently been top 100 were not renamed this year,” he said.

Porter said being named to the list helps Tweed and Company with exposure, allowing them to advertise themselves as a top festival and event in the province.

It is also something they can mention when filling out different grant applications.

Tweed and Company has secured funding through the Enabling Accessibility Fund to go towards installing a lift at the Bancroft Village Playhouse.

They will be holding a Great Big Fundraising Party in May of this year with the goal of raising $20,000 towards the project.

Also underway is a capital campaign, through which Tweed and Company is asking local patrons of the arts to donate $100,000.

Porter said installing the lift will help make the venue more accessible for patrons and performers alike.

He hopes to have the lift installed by the end of this year.
