The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board celebrated Words Matter Day this week.
The day was a highlight of the year-long Words Matter campaign the board started in the fall, in partnership with Harmony Movement.
The campaign aims to educate school communities about the power of words in shaping school culture, and how to stand up against harmful language.
On Words Matter Day, students created friendship bracelets, painted t-shirts and participated in other activities, and celebrated their achievements thus far.
A YouTube video and a Spotify podcast episode have been released discussing Words Matter Day and the broader campaign.
