Bancroft’s annual Rockhound Gemboree launches new and improved website

The Town of Bancroft has unveiled a new-and-improved event website for the annual Rockhound Gemboree.

The town said the updated, more efficient information hub will provide easy access to visitor information, schedules, event highlights, and exhibitor applications. The site features improved navigation, simplified access to event information, and a more visually organized experience across all pages.

“We inherited the website and we just felt it was time to refresh it, make it more cohesive and accessible for users,” said deputy clerk Robin Tait. “It is an asset so I wanted to invest in it and make sure people have the information they need at their fingertips.”

Tait added the new design allows easy access on mobile and desktop displays.
“Bancroft and region are promoted in many aspects of the website, with local galleries, businesses, heritage sites, and other recreational geology opportunities being showcased for anyone visiting the area and planning their stay.”

The “About” tab takes a look at the history of the Rockhound Gemboree and a photo gallery is a collection of people, minerals, discoveries, and memories from previous shows.

“Bancroft and region are promoted in many aspects of the website, with local galleries, businesses, heritage sites, and other recreational geology opportunities being showcased for anyone visiting the area and planning their stay,” added Tait.

The new website can be found at www.bancroftrockhoundgemboree.ca. The event attracts approximately 8,000 people over four days.
