Kitchen party raising funds for community cupboard

Music and food are always a good recipe for bringing people together.

Organizers of the North Hastings Community Cupboard Kitchen Music Party believe those ingredients will bring folks out tonight to the community staple on Madawaska Street.

Board member Stephen Petrick told MyBancroftNow some local musicians are scheduled to perform, however, it’s also an open mic and everyone is welcome to show off their musical talents.

Petrick said the weather is promising for the outdoor event and he hopes plenty of locals bring a lawn chair, and a donation of cash and or food products for the community cupboard.

While the food and music are flowing, organizers and volunteers can talk about what the community cupboard does for the community.

Petrick adds that support has been amazing but it is important to organize a summer event as the cupboard needs community support year round, not just around the major holidays.

“We have a nice little area, it’s a parking lot concert. We are hoping lots of people come out. It’s important to keep that momentum going all year.”

The kitchen party runs from 6-8 p.m.
