Bancroft OPP take part in joint enforcement initiative in Algonquin Park

Police officers from the Bancroft OPP detachment partnered up with Ontario Parks and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry enforcement officers for a traffic initiative at Algonquin Park.

Over the course of one day earlier this month, 417 vehicles were checked.

The focus was on traffic safety, vehicle compliance, and education to ensure motorists were operating safely and responsibly within the park.

Charges were laid under the Liquor Licence and Control Act, Highway Traffic Act and through commercial motor vehicle inspections.

Officials say joint initiatives help promote compliance with provincial legislation and support a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors to Ontario’s provincial parks.
