OPP Canine Unit celebrates 50 years of service

The OPP Canine Unit is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

Police say the unit started in 1965, which has now grown to 31 police officers and 36 trained canine partners.  Their services are used to find narcotics, dead bodies, explosives and more.  The OPP says canine teams have done about 1,200 tracks every year over the past five years to find criminals.
