The Northern Outdoor Studies class at our local high school has finished a week-long canoe trip to Algonquin Park.
The North Hastings High School class left on September 28th. Smoke Lake, Big Porcupine Lake, Head Lake and Cache Lake were all part of their route. Students practiced their cooking, knot tying and camp fire starting skills on the trip. This is one of the activities available through the program each year.
The four-credit program has been offered at the high school in Bancroft since 1997.
