The OPP is launching Operation Impact today, with the focus on distracted driving, speeding, impaired driving and failure to wear a seat belt.
This year alone, these offences were contributing factors in 170 of the 227 deaths investigated by the OPP across the province.  Over the Thanksgiving weekend, the Bancroft OPP will be keeping an eye out for those who don’t obey the rules of the road, and are pushing the message that we all need to use safe driving practices every time that we get behind the wheel.  Operation Impact runs from today through holiday Monday.
