Today marks one month since the tragic shootings in Wilno that left three women dead.
Ottawa police arrested the 57-year-old suspect, who reportedly knew all three women, after a 5 hour manhunt. Schools in the area were put on lockdown during that time.
The events shed light on the issue of domestic violence.
Lewis Smith with the Canada Safety Council says that it can be hard for victims and witnesses to identify domestic violence.
He went on to say that according to Statistics Canada, there were 88 thousand cases of domestic violence reported to police in 2011.
