The town’s Waste Water Treatment facilities were a main focus in conversations at the Bancroft Finance and Growth committee meeting yesterday.
In a report on the subject, a high volume of water entered the system in April 2014, more than any other year. This could mean a leak in the system. It has prompted a proposed 2 per cent increase to sewer rates that may come into effect in January of 2016.
Public awareness campaigns have also been proposed which could result in better resource management.
