Early Thursday morning Peterborough County OPP was called to the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 7. Officers discovered that two motor vehicles were involved the crash. It appears that an east bound Mazda had crossed over into the west bound lanes of Highway 7 and struck a westbound Chevrolet. Emergency personnel were needed for both drivers. A 22 year-old man, who was driving the Mazda, was air-lifted to Sunny Brook Hospital with serious injuries. The woman who was in the Chevrolet was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment. Both vehicles were seriously damaged, with the Chevrolet being destroyed by fire from the impact. The investigation is ongoing.
