Local MPP Todd Smith has introduced a bill into Queens Park that will give Realtors the same opportunity as other professionals, such as lawyers and accountants, to personally incorporate. Smith says he was prompted to act after hearing from the Quinte and District Real Estate Board and discovered that some other provinces already allow Realtors to incorporate themselves. He says that Ontario should not be left behind. The Tax Fairness for Realtors Act is a private member’s bill and is limited in what it can accomplish, but Smith says it will be a good start.
