Suspicious Man Sought in Haliburton

Haliburton OPP is asking for your help in locating a man after he approached a young woman in a park last Friday afternoon. Sometime between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. the girl was walking by the town docks in the village of Haliburton, when a man who asked her if she wanted to go for a ride with him. The girl refused and immediately left the area. The man is described as a white, in his late 40’s or early 50’s, five foot ten inches tall, with a medium build. He had short-to-medium length brushed back hair, was unshaven and wore blue jeans, construction boots and a red plaid flannel jacket. The vehicle was an older style dark blue passenger mini-van with tinted windows, and the majority of the front bumper covered in rust. No licence plate numbers were noted. Anyone with information is asked to call the Haliburton OPP at 705 286-1431 or Crimestoppers.
