The municipality of Highlands East has been asked to pass a No Burn By Law for downtown Cardiff.
Resident Kathy Gray says she has always had a great concern about camp and burn fires in the community.
Fire Chief Bill Wingrove agrees and says the cost associated with multiple fires would be enormous, and cause an insurance premium increase which could deter any prospective buyers.
Councillors have asked Wingrove to prepare a draft bylaw.
