Four Men Fined a Total of $8,000 for Hunting Offences

Four men have been found guilty and fined $8,000 for migratory game bird hunting offences. Back in September, a conservation officer responded to shots he heard fired and discovered the men hunting near a pond where corn had been dumped as bait. One of the men also shot a gull during this time. All four men wherfined for hunting with bait. Three of the men were fined for setting bait within 14 days of the opening of the season. One was fined for shooting the gull and another was fined for not having a permit to hunt ducks. Each man received a mandatory one-year migratory game bird hunting suspension; the ducks shot were forfeited to the Crown.
