North Kawartha Council is taking digital steps to make its operations more accessible and transparent.
As part of a pilot project, the township will start posting audio and video from council meetings on YouTube. CAO Alana Solman says this will allow residents to hear discussions surrounding council decisions without needing to travel.
Solman also says, because this is a pilot project, the technology being used to record the meetings is inexpensive to keep costs low. The technology could be upgraded in the future.
The township says meeting minutes will continue to be considered official council decisions. Click here to access the North Kawartha Township YouTube page.
