With spring on its way, residents should make sure they aren’t attracting any bears coming out of hibernation.
That’s according to Killaloe OPP Constable Catherine Yarmel, who says there’s some measures you can take to avoid bears near your property.
Yarmel says that if you’re in danger because of a bear, call police.
If you see a bear in a tree or roaming around checking garbage cans and you aren’t in danger, you’re encouraged to call the toll-free Bear Wise reporting line at 1-877-514-2327.
