Police are crediting the quick actions of a 54 year-old Uxbridge man with saving the life of his neighbour. On Friday afternoon he saw an ATV and the rider fall through the ice on Buckhorn Lake. The 54 year-old made his way out onto the ice and, after a number of attempts, pulled the rider to safety. Paramedics brought the victim off the ice and into an awaiting ambulance. The victim was treated for hypothermia inside the ambulance and released to the care of his family. The OPP reminds you that no ice is 100% safe, and if you plan on going onto the ice this winter carry safety equipment.
