Hastings County has signed a new doctor to its Family Physician Recruitment Program. It was announced Thursday that Dr. Laura Vance will be setting up her practice in Madoc after completing her residency with Queen’s University in Kingston. Vance is originally from Tweed and says she is excited to move back to her hometown. The recruitment program gives students $25,000 per year for six years. They have to commit to opening a practice in the County for at least five years after they graduate.
