Joint Training Session With OPP And Canadian Armed Forces Tonight in Bancroft

The OPP’s Tactical Rescue Unit, Canine Unit and other police services will join the Canadian Armed Forces in a joint training exercise tonight in the Bancroft area

Since it will be happening in the area, the Bancroft OPP says you may see more police than usual in the area along with members of the Canadian Armed Forces. OPP constable Philippe Regamey says you should expect to see helicopters, ATVs, and other military vehicles while the training is on-going.

“It’s training for the Canadian Armed Forces for escape and evasion,” OPP Constable Philippe Regamey says. He explains the training happens every year in the area. The training done tonight will help give the military experience in covertly moving through areas without being caught.

If you do see anyone that may be involved with the training exercise, you’re being asked to not interrupt them.
