The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP are warning the public of a mortgage scam locally. They say they’re investigating reports of fraudulent mortgages that people got through a broker. A 25-year old woman from the Township of Whitewater Region faces charges of forged documents, perjury and fraud over $5,000. The OPP continue to investigate and they believe there are more victims. Anyone with information in this case is asked to contact the OPP detachment’s crime unit.
