Five people were taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision on Scenic Road Saturday night. The Killaloe OPP responded to the call in the Township of Killaloe-Hagarty-Richards around 8:30 p.m. They say it was determined that an 18-year old man from Lamont, Alberta was driving westbound in a 2006 Grand Prix with two passengers when his vehicle hit an oncoming GMC Sierra pickup truck. The driver of the truck was a 44-year old man who lived in the township. A passenger was airlifted to a hospital in Ottawa for further treatment and fire destroyed both vehicles. The driver of the car was charged with careless driving.
