The OPP are reminding drivers that being on the phone while behind the wheel isn’t worth the risk.
They say a driver increases their chance of crashing by 23 times just by using their device. The OPP are urging drivers to reduce their distractions after doing traffic enforcement in Belleville Wednesday afternoon. Out of 75 drivers that were stopped, five were issued charges, two of them for driving while using a handheld communication device.
