The Board of Health approved Hastings Prince Edward Public Health’s financial statements from 2014 at its meeting Wednesday.
The board says the budget broke even at the end of the fiscal year. The health unit is in the process of repaying a $5.6 million loan that funded the move of its main office to 179 North Park Street in Belleville.
The building process has reached the third phase, meaning the old health unit building will be demolished over six weeks. A parking lot for patients will replace the building. The project is expected to be finished by July.
