“It really just brings back the livelihood of the downtown:” recreation coordinator on this weekend’s Bay Day in Barry’s Bay

Bay Day is back this long weekend.

The annual celebration kicks off the summer tourism season in downtown Barry’s Bay.  It usually happens on Opeongo Line, but is being moved to Dunn Street this year due to road construction for the Township of Madawaska Valley’s revitalization project.  But Recreation and Community Development Coordinator Paul Nopper says between 500 and 1,000 people are still expected to flock to the streets come Saturday.

The day goes from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.  SMASH Wrestling is also in-town to close the evening at the Paul J. Yakabuski Community Centre.  The show kicks off at 7 p.m.  For more information, click here.
