The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP is reminding boaters to check the weather before they hit the water, following a call about a boat in distress on the Ottawa River Tuesday.
A boater in distress called 911 around noon near Pembroke. Â Police say the engine broke down and that winds blew the aluminum boat across the river, so the two passengers tried to paddle to shore.
The Marine Unit responded, returning the boaters to shore safely.
