Prom Project aiming to give lightly used clothes a second life

Students in need of formal wear can get it at North Hastings High School this May.

The high school is organizing a Prom Project event on May 5th from 3 to 5 PM. Organizers Megan Jenkins and Ethan Wilkes say the event is a perfect, green way to get rid of clothing that’s been sitting in the closet that has only been used once. Students can pick out formalwear for any event like family weddings, graduation, and of course, prom.

Jenkins and Wilkes say that some students will model some of the clothing in the school gym, with the stage being changed into a boutique with fitting rooms on site. Both say they would love to have some people donate some of their formal wear that they don’t use anymore. All items can be taken home for free by students.
